HARDWOOD! — Tree Cartoons That Go Out on a Limb!

It’s spring… finally! Our friends in the forest, well… they are the forest… are blooming and growing, shading us, giving us oxygen and, according to Xeth Feinberg’s tree cartoon series, HARDWOOD!, they are murderous, hideous beings with a lust for life… HUMAN LIFE! And blood, of course. I had long suspected this was the case, as I know you have, too!

I feel like a sap, not going nuts on each of these cartoons but what else can be said about the audacity of this premise? Xeth promises he’ll be uploading more of these splinters of genius and there are some pieces we didn’t swipe for this article, so go to his website and become a fan! Then leave.

Want to know more about the cartoonist? Of course not! No one ever does, but in this case, Xeth writes a very poetic autobiography…

Xeth Feinberg is the full name… I’ve been in animation for years, was sort of a webtoon pioneer, based in NYC… directed and animated QUEER DUCK: THE MOVIE for Showtime/Paramount back in 2006 (written by Simpsons writer Mike Reiss)… among other animation worked at Blue Sky on Ice Age and Robots… created such characters as BULBO and PAPU… mucho comix over the years… there are links from the Hardwood blog page… my YouTube channel links to other things… I’m also a musician in an obscure band called The Prefab Messiahs. It can all be googled, I reckon.
